Earth Hour Philippines 2013

Written By kusina101 on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 | Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Earth Hour is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world.   Born out of a hope that we could mobilize people to take action on climate change, Earth Hour now inspires a global community of millions of people in 7,001 cities and towns across 152 countries and territories to switch lights off for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.

There is no doubt about it: the world is facing some of the most critical environmental challenges in its history. That may make the journey to a sustainable future seem difficult to imagine, but it is far from impossible. Change this big needs you. It needs every one of us. Together our individual actions add up to make a difference collectively. In fact, change is already underway. Now is the time for our interconnected global community to mobilize others through each of our actions for change and build momentum and motivation for the next person.

For the past four years, the Philippines has had the most number of cities and towns joining the global movement. But more than the numbers, Earth Hour stands for a pledge to go beyond the 60-minute lights-out by living more sustainably and minimizing our ecological impacts.

Join the hundreds of millions across the globe who are celebrating Earth Hour. Whether you are switching off your lights at home or organizing your own event, we invite you to be part of this global movement! Sign up now and be counted!

Earth Hour 2013 will be held on Saturday March 23 at 8:30pm-9:30pm wherever you are in the world. So save the date and keep coming back to earthhour.org to see the world unite to protect the planet.
