The festival’s name comes from the tagalog terms “Hiyas and Pahiyas which means to decorate the hall with "kiping" and other agricultural harvest. If you’re not familiar with kiping, it is made from ground rice flour, which shaped like real leaves or other leaf forms and colored in red, yellow, green, orange and other bright shades.
