Akala ko po ay hindi na ako makakapag-aral kaya’t very thankful po talaga ako sa LANDBANK dahil nakapasok ako as scholar nila,” said Roda Capaca, a BS Agriculture student at the Visayas State University in Baybay City, Leyte.
LANDBANK awards certificates of scholarship to Gawad Patnubay Scholars Capaca is only one of 52 scholars who were conferred certificates of scholarship under the Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program in a ceremony held at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall, LANDBANK Plaza last December 3.
“We are confident that the Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program will help more young Filipinos finish their education and go into agriculture. We expect this program to produce promising individuals who will contribute to the growth of our economy through agriculture and agripreneurship,” LANDBANK President and CEO Gilda Pico said.
Also present during the event were partners from the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) led by Training Center Head Dr. Noel Magor, MFI Farm Business Institute President Col. Alejandro EscaƱo and school officials from partner universities. The Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program aims to provide educational assistance to poor but deserving dependents of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and cooperative members who want to pursue agricultural studies.
