The Department of Tourism (DOT) will host the Hot Air Balloon Festival this 2014, the yearly hot-air balloon event held from April 10 to 13, 2014 at Clark, Pampanga with the theme "It's More Than Just Hot Air. It's a Celebration of Life in Times of Adversity."

More than just attracting tourists from around the world, the Friendship Balloon Festival hopes to invigorate the passion for flying among the young and old folks. The festival hopes to instill discipline in the young pilots participating in it so that they may be safe aviators for the country as well as impart the spirit of volunteerism to everyone.

The tourism department, together with the Tourism Promotions Board, will be working on getting the support of overseas offices to extend the official invitations to balloonists in those countries.
With the joint effort between the Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board, CDC, Clark International Airport Corporation, Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corporation (PETCO) and 1st Air Division (600th Air Base Wing PAF), supported by various organizations, the new hot air balloons event is set to be bigger with more activities both aviation related and special land events.
All proceeds of the event will go to the community development and rehabilitation of the Eastern Visayas region affected by the Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and various charity missions.
