Domestic Airfare to Incorporate Terminal Fee starting August

Written By kusina101 on Saturday, May 12, 2012 | Saturday, May 12, 2012

According to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), starting August, domestic airfares will already include the terminal fee.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and local airlines reportedly agreed on the integration of the terminal fee in plane ticket prices. Given this, the Manila International Airport Authority and airlines are in talks "for a seamless collection of terminal fees."

“The terminal fee will be integrated in the plane tickets for all domestic flights. This means that people will no longer fall in line inside the airport to pay for their terminal fee.  It will free up space inside the airport as well,” said Secretary Manuel Roxas.
Domestic passengers are charged a terminal fee of P200. Overseas Filipino workers and senior citizens - both of whom are exempted from the terminal fee - will get a refund, Roxas said.
“In the Philippines, the terminal fee is not included in the ticket price because airlines do not want to administer exemptions for terminal fee,"
